Publication Materials

The Parkinson Association is a Chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation. The National Parkinson Foundation produces a variety of free print publications for Parkinson patients and caregivers in English and Spanish.  These publications can be ordered on our site, and shipped to you free of charge, or in most cases, reviewed and printed from the Adobe Acrobat version.  You can also order several books, the proceeds of which benefit the Parkinson Association of WNY & The National Parkinson Foundation.

We offer Parkinson disease Medical Alert cards for anyone who wants one.  On the front side of the card, is space for a Parkinson patient to fill out an identity card with his/her name, address, phone number, and emergency contact and a short description of the disease identifying the card holder as a Parkinson patient. On the reverse side is a listing of medications that are counter indicated (should not be used) for those using Parkinson medications.  This card can be requested by using our free print publications order form

The Parkinson Report is a quarterly magazine widely distributed to constituents of the Foundation, which contains articles written by Parkinson researchers, medical practitioners, and caregivers, as well as contributions from NPF's staff.  The current edition, and prior editions dating back to the fourth quarter of 2001, are available in PDF format here.

Readings of Interest to the Parkinson Community contains a comprehensive list of publications of interest to Parkinson patients and their caregivers.  The list provides links to websites from which the publications can be ordered.  Caregiver Resources

contains links to websites that deal specifically with issues related to caregivers.

The Multimedia section of the site is the repository for programs on video or other media that NPF has identified as being of value to Parkinson patients or caregivers.  Additional resources on other sites can be found under Useful Websites.
